    Founded in 1991, Sciences Po Lille is a selective public school that belongs to the network of Political Studies Institutes associated with the National Foundation of Political Science. Sciences Po Lille is located in the beautiful Lille near the Belgium border. This university offers courses in the Social Sciences such as Economics, Political Science, Business and Language.

    With its decidedly international focus, Sciences Po Lille welcomes exceptional students and prepares them for high-level careers in international organizations, NGO's European institutions. 

    Local cultural visits and various social events will be offered to the students including a study trip to Brussels and EU institutions.

    Additional Information A Partner University program is a study abroad experience where students are nominated/accepted by Stony Brook University, and enroll at a partner institution. In most cases SBU faculty or staff are NOT traveling with participants.
    Program Housing Statement: Stony Brook University is required to comply with the housing policies of the host country, partner institution and/or hotel/hostel. These policies may include requirements such as sex-based housing placement.

    Course Information

    The Sciences Po Lille Summer School offers an innovative program which focuses on International and European Affairs. Students will learn about current issues including the crisis in climate change and European identity and values. 

    As part of the program students will be offered French language classes to enhance and perfect their language skills and provide some understanding of the contemporary aspects of French society. 

    Local cultural visits and various social events will be offered to the students as well as a study trip to Brussels and the EU institutions.

    Academic Policies

    • This is a partner university program. Applications must be submitted to Stony Brook University first. Information regarding the next steps in the process will be distributed to students who have received formal nominations by their International Programs Coordinator.
    • Grades earned in a Partner University program WILL NOT calculate towards the cumulative GPA for SBU students.
    • Non-SBU students must contact their home university regarding their grade and credit transfer policy.
    • Students are required to retain syllabi for each virtual course.
