  3. Gaëlle Colin has been awarded a Racial Justice Research Fellowship by the Association for the Study of Food and Society for her winning proposal "A Visual Exploration of Black Women's Food Practices in France."(2024)
  4. Chi Keung (Charles) Fung's first book, Hong Kong Public and Squatter Housing: Geopolitics and Informality, 1963-1985 (co-authored with Alan Smart) has just been published by Hong Kong University Press (2024).

  7. Sophia Boutilier has received the ASA 2023 Sociology of Development Section Graduate Award for her paper "What do you mean by that? Meanings of Solidarity for Canadian International Development Workers (2023).
  8. Wyatt "Raf" Thompson has received a position at the  Medici School in Economic Sociology at the MIT Sloan School of Management in Summer 2023.
  9. Dana McIntyre received a Fulbright-Hayes Group Study Abroad Fellowship (2022).
  10. Katie Gordon has received the Robert Dentler Award for Outstanding Student Achievement from the Sociological Practice and Public Sociology (SPPS) Section of the American Sociological Association (2022).
  11. Katie Gordon led a team at th Sonoma County Commission on the Status of Women that received a $25,000 competitive grant from the state of California to support women's economic recovery in the community to produce the Report on the Status of Women and Girls in Sonoma County in partnership with the Center for the Advancement of Women at Mount Saint Mary's University (2022).
  12. Natalia Navas has been selected by the American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education as a graduate fellow for the 2022 AAHHE Graduate Student Fellowship Program.
  13. Danielle Lucksted has been selected as a 2021 Edmonds Summer Fellow with Human Rights Educators USA to create a "train the trainers" module for their educators throughout the country.
  14. Dana McIntyre received the 2021 International Graduate Research Fellowship Award from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

  16. Nayla Huq has received a Department of State Critical Language Scholarship, an intensive language and cultural immersion program.
  17. Andrew Hargrove, Stony Brook PhD graduate Jamie Sommer (Assistant Professor, University of South Florida), and Sociology Professor Jason Jones's article, "Virtual reality and embodied experience induce similar levels of empathy change: Experimental evidence" published in Computers and Human BehaviorReports has been chosen the most impactful research of the year by CHBR Editor-in-Chief Matthew Guitton

  19. Fatoumata Ceesay received a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship which carries three years of full funding to support her research (2020).
