Political Science Undergraduate Awards and Scholarships
Below are the criteria for scholarships and awards given by the Department of Political Science. Applications are accepted annually for each scholarship or award, due by the posted deadline. If a deadline has passed, applications may not be submitted, and applicants will have to wait until the following year to apply.

Robert Clasen Scholarship
Criteria:
- All class standings eligible (U1-U4).
- Minimum GPA of 3.00 for SBU coursework.
- Major in Political Science.
- Full-time matriculation.
- Demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship Services.
- Demonstrate potential and promise in the subject matter, as evidenced by a reference and personal statement.
Recipient must maintain criteria for scholarship eligibility.

Davidson Family Scholarship
Criteria:
- Must be a Junior (U3) or Senior (U4).
- Minimum GPA of 3.00 for SBU coursework.
- Preferably majoring in Political Science.
- Be a veteran of the armed forces of the United States or Coastguard that has served on active duty, as verified by the Office of Veterans Affairs.
Recipient must maintain criteria for scholarship eligibility.

Alumni Pre-Law Scholarship
Criteria:
- Must be a Junior (U3) or Senior (U4).
- Minimum GPA of 3.00 for at least two years for SBU coursework.
- Demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.
- Demonstrate intent on attending law through one or more of the following, and supported by a reference:

- Be an active participant in one of the Pre-Law student clubs on campus.
- Take law related courses.
- Work in the legal industry before or during attendance at Stony Brook.

Patricia A. Gramer Memorial Scholarship
Criteria:
- Must be a Senior (U4)
- Minimum GPA of 3.25 for SBU coursework.
- Major in Political Science.
- Full time matriculation.
- Must be writing a senior honors thesis in Political Science (POL 495 and POL 496).
Recipient must maintain criteria for scholarship eligibility.

Mark Herzinger Scholarship in Political Science
Criteria:
- All class standings eligible (U1-U4).
- Must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate in the College of Arts and Sciences.
- Must be a POL major, or have completed POL coursework at SBU.
- Demonstrate high academic achievement.
- Be in good academic standing.
Recipient must maintain criteria for scholarship eligibility.

Criteria:

Criteria:
