OEA information for Supervisors

ReportIt: Ending Sexual Misconduct

Mandatory Renewal for 2022

All employees will be contacted to participate in ReportIt: Ending Sexual Misconduct for Faculty & Staff.  Under New York State law all employees are required to participate in annual sexual harassment prevention programming. ReportIt satisfies this requirement.

As a supervisor we hope that we can count on you to ensure that your staff are aware of this requirement. Perhaps you might call attention to the program in a staff meeting, departmental email or through whatever means you use to communicate with your staff. Thank you for your assistance.

If you have any questions regarding how to best address this requirement with your staff you can contact oea_trainng@stonybrook.edu.

ReportIt Now Available on HealthStream

ReportIt: Ending Sexual misconduct will now be available via HealthStream.

Employees with access to HealthStream will see ReportIt with their other annual requirements. We hope this will make compliance for these employees easier.

Alternate ReportIt Option Available

The Office of Equity and Access is aware that some employees at Stony Brook do not work at computer work stations and therefore compliance with this requirement can be challenging. If you would like to discuss making arrangements for alternative programming, please contact oea_training@stonybrook.edu.

Reasonable Disability Accommodation

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that otherwise qualified disabled employees can receive accommodation if necessary to allow them to perform their essential job functions under federal and New York State law.

Suppose an employee approaches you about a change to their job, equipment, schedule, or work environment (including work from home) due to a mental or physical impairment. In that case, whether the impairment is permanent or temporary, you should refer them to OEA to engage in the accommodation process. You should never deny the request without speaking to OEA.

Employees can request accommodation through our online request form.

If you would like more information, supervisors' training on accommodation requests is available online.

If you have an concerns or questions regarding a possible request an employee may have made please contact us at oea_ada@stonybrook.edu.
