MA IN PUBLIC POLICY / PROGRAM IN PUBLIC HEALTH DUAL MASTER'S DEGREE

In collaboration with the Masters in Public Health, The MAPP offers a combined MAPP/MPH degree that prepares students for a career in public health administration and policy-making. The MAPP/MPH program includes about 24 credits of overlap, which reduces the total number of credits in the combined program to 51. Students can select only the Public Health Practice concentration for this combined program. Students receive both degrees upon completion of the entire program.

MA IN PUBLIC POLICY / MASTERS IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION DUAL MASTER'S DEGREE

The joint MAPP/MBA program is a 66 to 71-credit program that combines 24 to 27 credits taken in the Department of Political Science and 42 to 45 credits taken in the College of Business. The combined degree is approximately 21 credits shorter than the two programs would be if taken independently.
With the increasing political and economic interdependence of the private and public sectors, students pursuing careers in business would benefit from a deeper understanding of public policy and its impact on the finances and management of most businesses. At the same time, students pursuing careers in government or government-related fields will clearly benefit from understanding the multi-faceted financial and organizational imperatives of modern business enterprises.
Most graduates from this combined degree are expected to find employment in the public sector, as well as in private firms strongly impacted by government regulation and other interventions, for example: real estate, banking, and the many industries that depend heavily on government contracts.

 

REQUIREMENTS/APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

• You must either be a newly admitted student in or entering your first semester of the MBA or MAPP program or have completed 12 or fewer credits in either program. You must have taken either the GRE or GMAT exams.
• Accepted students will be required to begin taking courses for both programs in their first semester as Dual MA students.
