Carla Jablonski, MA
Alda-Certified Facilitator
Contact Carla
Carla has been working with scientists, researchers, and students around the county as an Alda-certified facilitator at the Alda Center since 2016.
An award-winning and widely published author (under several names), she is also an
experienced editor, having worked with several of the major publishing houses and
individual clients. As she does with her editorial clients, she strives toward guiding
Alda workshop participants to find and develop their authentic voices.
An actor with an extensive background in Improv, Carla believes the great value of
improv for non-actors is that it teaches us how to be truly present and how to listen,
both crucial to any form of successful communication. The Alda Center’s experiential,
immersive curriculum excites and inspires her in every workshop.
She is also a Lecturer in the School of Journalism and Communication and prior to
her work at Stony Brook and the Alda Center she taught the basics of storytelling,
Public Speaking, as well as workshops in using improvisation to create and develop
text.
She is a member of Actors Equity Association, SAG-AFTRA, and the Consulting Editors Alliance.
