Radha Ganesan

Radha is an Assistant Professor of Practice and an Alda Certified Facilitator at the School of Communication and Journalism. She specializes in designing science communication curricula for both online and in-person delivery. Her work focuses on creating impactful professional development programs for scientists and courses for graduate students, driven by her passion for making science accessible and towards inspiring future generations, particularly girls, to pursue scientific careers.

Since joining the Alda Center in 2016, Radha has facilitated science communication workshops across the U.S. and globally. In this role she has worked with scientists and researchers from a diverse spectrum of fields and numerous institutions such as non-profits, government agencies, and private corporations. She has developed custom curriculum programs for renowned organizations like NASA, the World Bank, the Gates Foundation, and the Heising-Simons Foundation. Additionally, she provides individual coaching to help scientists communicate their work effectively to secure financial grants and awards. Radha also co-designed and co-facilitates the Alda Center's Women in STEM Leadership Program.

At the School of Communication & Journalism, Radha teaches graduate level Science Communication courses, aimed at equipping student researchers to present their work in compelling ways that highlight its significance.

With over a decade of experience in training, adult learning, higher education, and international development, Radha holds a Master’s in Educational Program Evaluation and a PhD in Instructional & Curriculum Design Syracuse University. Her research was focused on teaching competencies in Higher Education. 

With the Alda Center's multidisciplinary team, she finds joy helping students and scientists share their work, tell their stories to the world, and inspire the next generation to join the world of scientific inquiry.
