To the Stony Brook University Community,

Following up on our recent communication regarding Dr. Hayward, we are aware that individuals have engaged in “doxxing” and other forms of cyber-bullying against her. These tactics are inconsistent with Stony Brook University’s values and we condemn them in the strongest possible terms. As is our standard practice in these circumstances, we are taking appropriate steps to protect Dr. Hayward and will continue to be vigilant. We stand behind the concerns expressed in our recent message -- at the same time, we are deeply committed to the principles of free speech and academic freedom. We are proud of the path-breaking research, exceptional clinical care, and transformative educational experience our faculty and staff deliver.
