Provost Search

To All Faculty and Staff,
As we continue to navigate our way through a time in history like no other, it is clear that the choices we make today will set us on the path to a stronger tomorrow. These choices happen at every level—from the deliberate dialogue and participation of students within our classrooms and the incredible, timely research from our faculty and graduate students, to the ongoing commitment and hard work of the staff members, leaders, and working groups informing our decisions as we adapt throughout this unprecedented year.
Toward that end, we are beginning the search for a new Provost. I will be looking for your assistance and support to ensure the optimal outcome for Stony Brook’s future and sustain the tradition of strong and thoughtful leadership at our University.
Our search committee will be co-chaired by Esther Takeuchi and Nina Maung-Goana. It includes staff, faculty, and students from throughout the institution, all dedicated to helping us advance the mission of Stony Brook. Education Executives, LLC, which specializes in the search for research university presidents, provosts, and deans, was selected to assist the committee with its work.
