Dissertation: Race Science on Tour: Scientific Communication and Reception in Provincial Britain, 1830-1870
Interests: Constructions of race, class, sex, and gender through science in the Victorian period
Charlotte Rossler is a PhD Candidate and historian of modern Britain interested in
the constructions of race, class, sex, and gender through science in the Victorian
period. Her dissertation research examines the roles of provinciality and locality
in the popularization of race science through lectures, human exhibitions, and periodicals.
She has earned a graduate certificate in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and
her B.A. in History from University of Detroit Mercy.
