PhotoPhD Candidate

Interests: United States Twentieth Century, Political History, Labor History.

I am researching the connections between labor, race, policing, and citizenship during the New Deal. While the New Deal created new opportunities and protections for many, it also served to judge, categorize and organize various groups of people along a hierarchical system. My research seeks to uncover what it meant to be a social citizen during the New Deal. In addition, I will explore what the exclusion of citizenship, the lack of acceptance into society, meant for those that were disqualified.
