Interests: Land management; federal policies between the US gov't and American Indian Nations.

Since 2019 I have been working on a biography of Charles Curtis - the Native American pro athlete who became Vice President of the United States (1929-1933). My proposed dissertation topic is about four treaties between his tribe, the Kanza, and the federal government. Presently, I am a federal employee with the IRS and adjunct business professor at SUNY Suffolk. Upon graduating, I would like to continue teaching while working on federal legislative matters. With the work that I will complete during this course of study, I intend to expand upon the rich heritage of the Kanza Nation from whom I have received a great deal of help in my research, as well as their recommendation to Stony Brook that I be permitted into the program.
